Noctilucent Clouds. This image was taken 4 July 2004 while airborne at 35,000 feet. From this position over Canada's Hudson Bay (near 62N, 086W) you can still see the melting pack-ice below in the frigid waters. However, note NLC visible just above the full Moon and rising Belt of Venus. This particular display was so bright that I could see it towards the south, away from the sun, which is extremely rare in my experience.
